TQ Teacher/Teaching Module

A four-session resource to study and engage with teaching, designed for small groups, missional communities, and churches. In this module we will explore teaching – starting with it’s theological roots. Then the focus will be recognizing Jesus as the ultimate Teacher in Week 2, moving into teaching functions of the church in Week 3 and finally into an exploration of an individual teacher’s calling in Week 4.

In this module we will explore teaching – starting with it’s theological roots. Then the focus will be recognizing Jesus as the ultimate Teacher in Week 2, moving into teaching functions of the church in Week 3 and finally into an exploration of an individual teacher’s calling in Week 4. Learning Objectives Learners who participate in this module will at the completion of this module be able to:

  • Discover the origin of TQ in God Himself
  • Dig into the Word of God to discover TQ in Scripture
  • View Jesus with a new lens as the ultimate Teacher
  • Examine their previous understanding of the teacher/teaching
  • Articulate a working definition of a teacher and the teaching function
  • Understand the teaching function of the church (implicit)
  • Assess their current church/group’s level of TQ
  • Reflect on healthy and unhealthy expressions of the teacher
  • Reflect on their own personal expression of teaching calling (explicit)
  • Take action steps to activate the latent TQ in their church/group, and in their lives personally Each week of the four week TQ Module contains the following subsections:

    • Actions

Treasures We would suggest a rhythm of completing one subsection a day.
