PQ Prophet/Prophetic Module

A four-session resource to study and engage with the prophetic, designed for small groups, missional communities, and churches. In this module we will enjoy exploring the prophetic – starting with the theological roots. Then the focus will be recognizing Jesus as the prophetic archetype in Week 2, moving into prophetic functions of the church in Week 3 and finally into an exploration of an individual prophet’s calling in Week 4.

In this module learners will enjoy exploring the prophetic – starting with the theological roots. Then the focus will be recognizing Jesus as the prophetic archetype in Week 2, moving into prophetic functions of the church in Week 3 and finally into an exploration of an individual prophet’s calling in Week 4. Learning Objectives Learners who participate in this module will at the completion of this module be able to:

  • Discover the origin of PQ in God Himself
  • Examine their previous understanding of prophet/prophetic
  • View Jesus with a new lens as the prophetic archetype
  • Explore the dual dimension of the prophetic function – vertical and horizontal
  • Articulate a working definition of a prophet and the prophetic function
  • Understand the prophetic function of the church (implicit)
  • Assess their current church/group’s level of PQ
  • Reflect on their own personal engagement and expression of prophetic gifting (explicit)
  • Reflect on healthy and unhealthy expressions of the prophetic
  • Take action steps to activate the latent PQ in their church/group, and in their lives personally Each week of the four week PQ Module contains the following subsections:

We would suggest a rhythm of completing one subsection a day.
